Lukumi People I was reintroduced to Sun Ra by one of my yoga students. I am a DJ, Spiritual Guide, Yoga Teacher, Usui/Tibetan Reiki Master Teacher, as well as a Broadcast Radio Programmer. I was guidi g my yoga student through a class with music playing in the background when, "When There Is No Sun, " came on. which was fitting as it was a cloudy overcast day. The song was moving and touched my soul. a few months after I found the song and letter the album on Bandcamp.com. I been featuring songs from the album on my weekly radio show as well as my DJ gigs. Give love and much thanks. Favorite track: When There Is No Sun.

about

Recorded in Rome, Italy, January 1978, featuring the quartet of Sun Ra (keyboards, vocals); Michael Ray trumpet, vocals); John Gilmore (tenor sax, timbales, vocal); and Luqman Ali (drums, vocals). No bassist. The tracks were issued on a double LP in '78.

According to notes in The Earthly Recordings of Sun Ra (by Robert L. Campbell and Christopher Trent), "Sun Ra frequently used his Crumar keyboard to program repeated lines and 'drum' sequences throughout the January 1978 sessions in Italy." These sessions also produced a companion double album, "Other Voices, Other Blues," with the identical personnel.
